POWERFUL - Welcome To The Slaughterhouse
\r\n
\r\nHaving previously released "Super Metal" in 2003, the Italian group Powerful doesn’t succeed in introducing us to a different sound with their new Full-Length release. Adding 4 new songs though does in fact strengthen the whole image of the album. Fast, aggresive Heavy Metal, following in Primal Fear’s footsteps, and at certains points you can distinguish their Metal influences even from Exodus. However that is not enough.. even though everything sounds just fine, maintaining a "rusty" production that suits these kind of groups, inspiration for a better sound to their music may help the band but what really holds them back is their frontman Alexander. It’s not that he doesn’t have a good voice, but that he doesn’t know how to use it precisely when reaching high-pitched areas, thus making the album tiresome in certain parts and generally affecting the band’s sincerity (as the track "We Play Super Metal" as well). Songs worth naming are "Screams Of Blood", "Welcome To The Slaughterhouse", and the extremely inspired "Listen To Me", that help the album gain a few points. Perhaps if they tried adding a bit more of their own personality and identity they could improve certain flaws, and surely we would have a much more appreciable result... We shall see...\r\n
