TΗΕ CURSED - Room Full of Sinners

\r\nThe Cursed is more like a side project thing from where I see it cause the names alone that are featured in this band speak obviously the truth. Starting with the legendary vocalist OVERKILL’s Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth, and continuing with the high credited guitarist Dan Lorenzo (ex-HADES, NON-FICTION) while the lineup is filled up with bassist Job The Raver (MURDER 1) and former NON-FICTION drummer Mike Cristi. With a contract with Locomotive Records in their hands those mucisians release their debut album, titled “Room Full of Sinners“. Do you probably expect a kind of a hybrid thrash metal here? Well, you are wrong! There is not even a slight hint of a thrash arrangement in this album. Dissapointed? Well, then stop reading this review cause here we have a clear hard rock creation with lots of groove, a dirty sound and plenty of blues scales. The first thing that draws your attention in this effort is Ellsworth’s variated and lecherous vocals, hard and raw but also dragging and low and playful at times. He reminded me kind of Motorhead’s Lemmy at times and a little bit of Fasterpussycat’s and a small amount of Trouble’s. Advancing to the songs they are packed up with a sleadgy-like rhythm along with the hard rock elaboration and the firm bluesy background while you can discover a seer Black Sabbath influence somewhere in the pan. There is even a saxophone pop up at some moments. Overall, even if this is not my general taste I admit that Ellsworth’s vocals managed to appeal a great deal to me but other than that this album is strictly for people that the dirty hard rock music runs in their veins.\r\n
