The Batallion - Stronghold of Men

The Norwegian outfit Batallion, has been formed back in 2006, and after their first release, the selftitled EP back in 2007, this years they return with their first full length release, entitled “Stronghold of Men”
\r\nThe Line up of Batallion, consists of current and ex members from Borknagar, Old Funeral, Grimfist, Taake etc. After the first listening of the album, is easy for someone to realize that this is not about a common Norwegian black metal band since the album has many influences from the Thrash and Heavy metal genre. Their music reminds me of Bewitched (Sweden) music, a thrash / heavy mix with a more “black metal” attitude.
\r\nIn the “Stronghold Of Men” we can find many influences from the early Celtic Frost days, Bewitched (Sweden), Destruction etc. “Stronghold of Men” is in general a very good release, with many well composed tracks, on which tracks the band gave riffing the first role.
