Bethor - The Return Of Darkness And Evil (A Tribute To Bathory)

\r\nThis release is a tribute album to Bathory on their black metal era by the Servians Bethor. Although I always prefer the original stuff the truth is that sometimes you can actually hear a really impressive and well crafted cover on a really classic song. But this is NOT the case here. Bathory and their black metal era at least for me but I’m sure for many people also is the untouchable Bible of black metal and their black metal trilogy of the early years are the most important and influential black metal releases in the history of metal, with all the trademarks and authenticity that defined the BM movement. If you don’t have those first three Bathory albums and you are into the black metal stuff GET THEM AT ONCE!!!\r\n

\r\nBut stay away from this tribute album!!!!!This is as shitty as can be that I don’t even have the words to describe it. This release is nothing more but a pure blasphemy for the glorious name of Quorthon and his first magical recordings. The songs are really SO awful that if it was your only option you would choose to cut your ears off than keep listening to this crappy thing. Especially with the mighty "13 Candles", what the fuck, what have you done to this song!!!!This is one of the worst covers I have ever heard!!And "Equimanthorn", one of the best black metal songs ever, which is also featuring Tristessa from Astarte on vocals, you totally destroyed it!!!\r\n

\r\nI don’t have anything further to review about, in fact I just want to forget I even listened to this atrocious monster. Just stay away from it, ignore it and even if someone make the terrible mistake and give it to you as present, just bury it to the nearest ground!!!!!\r\n
