Black Messiah - The First War Of The World
\r\nBlack Messiah. This is their new album release, called “The First War of the World”, after being in the scene for quite a few years. The band that begun by playing black metal in the early 90’s, enriched its music in the process by adding violins, mandolins, folk and power elements, while the guitar parts remained sharp and the vocals would be other times clean, and classical, and others would follow a black/pagan orientation. That’s the general idea in a few words.
\r\nThe thing is that this respectful effort of Black Messiah didn’t manage to make the difference for me, as it lacks inspiration. Even the artwork seems as if it’s a draft project, as if the artist was trying not to forget the idea he had in mind for the concept or something. The production is also on a medium level, music wise the fail on giving any feeling at all, and the songs are almost indifferent. It feels like they are playing music just for playing. Something like that, when the level and the number of the new albums are continually increasing, is considered as a factor to be skeptical the least.\r\n
