CHASING HAZEL - It's all about the Style and the Glamour

Chasing Hazel’s new album is the living proof to the quotation “Never judge a book by its cover”. What do I mean? I will get it straight.
\r\nI was about to listen to the album and by seeing the excellent cover artwork depicting an AWESOME BABE posing in a bikini, lipstick traces, the album titled “It’s all about the Style and the Glamour” and the Band’s logo similar with that of Crashdiet at first I thought it was another decent sleaze – glam release. Well I couldn’t be more wrong…
\r\nChasing Hazel are not only irrelevant to Hard rock but irrelevant to music generally.
\r\nThey are supposed to be playing melodic Hardcore but this statement alone insults the genre.
\r\nTheir compositions sound uninspired and boring, the guitar parts are full of repeating riffs (to the point that you are getting tired even by listening to no more than 3 songs), the drumming sounds weak and buried by the hilarious production but the worst of all are the vocals (which are overproduced, by the way) shared by 2 singers changing from the classic brutal style to the Emo-weepy ones. They really sound horrible while sometimes they seem to sing out of tune!
\r\nThe only good part of this release is, as mentioned before, the truly great but deceiving cover artwork. At least I had a good time staring at the booklet.
\r\nI really don’t think anyone should bother listening to this one. Not even just for fun.
