Chthonian Alchemy - The Awakening

\r\n"The Awakening" is the first demo for the Greek Chthonian Alchemy. The band started in early 2006 by Andreas "Denwar" and Grigoris Pavlis and their music is dark/gothic metal in the vein of Rotting Christ, Sentenced and Tiamat. The demo consists only by two tracks. The first track, "Moirai", is a beautiful melodic song with appealing guitars and enchanting keyboards both establishing a really interesting and dark composition. The second one, "Renaissance" begins with a soothing atmosphere built on stirring keyboards and clean warm vocals and then turns into an strong and emotional the same time, doomish at times output with an exceptional riffing on the chorus that really sticks in your mind. Overall, there wasn’t something that I didn’t like in this demo, the production is satisfactory, the vocals both clean and harsh are beautiful, the compositions well-worked, but they are only two,which you can all listen to on the band’s MySpace as well. So, if you are fan of the dark metal be sure to check them out. \r\n
