Cirith Gorgor - Cirith Gorgor

Cirith Gorgor - Cirith Gorgor

\r\nCirith Gorgor was founded in late 1993 by the\r\ntwo guitarists Asmoday and Astaroth Daemonum. After three years of almost silence\r\nsince their previous full length release in 2004 "Firestorm\r\nApocalypse" and a Split CD with Mor Dagor in 2005 this Dutch black metal\r\nband returns in the limelight with their latest album, titled "Cirith\r\nGorgor" through Ketzer Records and recorded in 2006 in the\r\nToneshed Studio (NL) with Erwin Hermsen and with their drummer Levithmong handling\r\ntemporarily the vocals on this album after the dismiss of Nimroth. I suppose\r\nthere aren’t many of you who claim to be devotes of the black metal genre and\r\ndon’t know Cirith Gorgor’s name already. Coming to their new release, "Cirith\r\nGorgor" is once again a damn fine work filled with forward aggression\r\nand ripping evilness always with a constructive melodic built up. Sweeping\r\nriffs accompanied by blastbeats and a sonic, well controlled dissonance alternating\r\nwith melodic lead patterns building up their lengthy compositions and an\r\natmosphere of pure and hateful viciousness. The guitars can get raging and fast\r\nwhile the percussion is shifting from technical to explosive and the vocals are\r\nharsh and high-pitched. The long compositions\r\nmostly demonstrate a mid to up tempo rhythm with several intervals of beautiful\r\nguitar breaks and obscure melodic passages either way with an embedded raw power.\r\nA pure and astonishing black metal output, highly recommended for the fans of\r\nthe band and generally of melodic black metal.\r\n
