Crematory - Pray

Crematory - Pray

\r\nI confess that I was really anxious for the\r\nrelease of the new album of Crematory, since every album that the German band\r\nreleases has many elements that I really like. It is true though, that none of\r\nthe bands albums has ever thrilled me in its entity, and that’s because at some\r\npoint the album seems to repeat itself. That’s all as far as it concerns me,\r\nfrom that point on anyone can draw his conclusions. "Pray" is the third album\r\nof the band after the supposed reunion of 2004 ("Revolution 2004, "KLagebilder"\r\n2006) and the tenth full length album so far.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nThings are simple, Crematory present us the\r\nsame thing that we are used to from the day they started, that’s a mix of a\r\ndark/atmospheric music, with some Death Metal points, some Industrial elements\r\nand of course many melodies which make the songs "catchy" and easy to listen to.\r\nLike in the rest of their releases there is nothing unexpected In "Pray" that\r\nis worth mentioning. All of the elements that make Crematory recognizable are\r\nhere, the keys, the heavy melodic riffs and the exchange of the brutal vocals\r\nof Felix and the clean vocals of Matthias. The hard but also clean sound is one\r\nmore time the strong point of the band, thing that however causes no\r\nimpression. I personally managed to distinguish two songs from the album which\r\nare "When Darkness Falls" and "Left The Ground". From that point and on the\r\nalbum can be heard easily but the fact that there is no development or exchange\r\nin the tunes makes the result not so pleasant. By saying that I don’t mean that\r\n"Pray" is indifferent, but that is another typical Crematory album with some\r\ngood moments and nothing more. The feeling of repetition is again obvious,\r\nthing that may never change as it seems.\r\n

\r\n

\r\n"Pray" is the proof that the band will never go\r\na step further and they will always remain at the same level, releasing just\r\ngood albums that the fans will hear for a small period of time and then they\r\nwill all remember anything but "Tears Of Time". The fans that follow Crematory\r\nall these years should check "Pray". Maybe they will find some songs to pass\r\ntheir time pleasantly.\r\n
