De Profundis (UK) - Beyond Redemption

One of the best acts we have been attended in MMD 2008 Festival was t England’s De Profundis. Despite the fact that their musical genre is not the best genre for being performed live they guys did it very well.
\r\nA couple of days before, their first self released album entitled “Beyond Redemption” reached me so I hade the opportunity to hear this band studio. The album features five tracks of total running time approximately 50 minutes. Their music reminds something of earlier My Dying Bride efforts as well as the finish Band, Evoken. The most of the music on the album is down tempo death metal but some elements similar to Katatonia also exist, with melodic passages and melodic guitar lines. The vocals are in a good level as well as their composing ability.
\r\nIn general , the “Beyond Redemption” album is a very good release for fans of Doom / Death scene and fans of bands like Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Katatonia and early Anathema. By the way the new drummer of the band is the Greek Sterghios Moschos, well known for his co-operation with the also Funaral Metalers Pantheist.
