DECADENCE - 3rd Stage Of Decay (Re-issue)
Those of you who are familiar with the band will probably know that "3rd Stage Of Decay" isn’t a new release. It was released through Hit Records in 2006 but in May 2008 Decadence inked a deal with Massacre Records and as a warm up for the new album (which is being recorded at this very moment) Massacre Records re-releases ’3rd Stage Of Decay’. If you already have this album, congratulations because you have good taste. However, those of you who don’t, grab the chance to get in touch with one of Sweden’s most promising bands. I use the word promising just because the guys and girl are too young. And that’s a fact that you can’t guess by listening to this album. The music of Decadence consists of both technical, melodic thrash as well as melodic death elements that balance really well. Despite the fact that the songs are quite technical, they are not complicated which makes it really easy for the riffs to stick into your mind a long time after the listening session. The production is solid, raw and aggressive and marks out the maturity of all compositions. The all outcome sounds great and there will be many moments that Kreator, Death, Metallica and Arch Enemy will pop into your mind. This band plays its cards right and yet, it holds and Ace too. Its name (or nickname if you prefer) is Metallic Kitty. I’m allergic to cats but I would die a happy man after having had a close encounter of third degree with this lady. But let’s not stay only at her gorgeous looks. The lady growls like a mad Rottweiler and spits out all the lyrics. Take the throat of Mille (what do you mean by "Mille who?") blend it with Chuck’s (what do you mean by "Chuck who?") and you got Miss Metallic Kitty. To sum up, if you don’t have this album, do yourself a favor and go buy it. If you do have it then just share the same anxiety with me about their next strike.
