DISBELIEF - PROTECTED HELL

DISBELIEF - PROTECTED HELL

\r\nProtected Hell is the eighth studio album of the German band. Disbelief\r\nhave launched their career at 1997 with their homonym debut and since\r\nthen they remain faithful to the same mid tempo style death metal that\r\nhas distinguished them from the beginning. If I had to describe their\r\nmusic I’d place them somewhere between Amon Amarth (regarding their mid\r\ntempo song approach) and Bloodbath (regarding the whole note and\r\ndiminished scale riff texture, a renowned death metal cliché).
\r\n
\r\nSo,\r\nin their new release there’s no surprises. But there’s one good and one\r\nbad thing with the philosophy of bands like Disbelief. They always\r\nremain stable to their primeval sound and compositional approach.\r\nThat’s good because they can claim that through all these years have\r\nmanaged to create and maintain their distinctive personality and\r\nmusical style. That’s also bad because one could claim that the band is\r\nafraid to experiment with new ideas and approaches. To me it seems the\r\ntruth is somewhere in between. What I would personally like (and\r\nactually expect) from a band that has the experience of Desbelief is to\r\ndo a self-transcedence, and finally surprise their audience. After all,\r\nthe world renown and legendary bands are those who won’t hesitate to\r\nexperiment on any level even with the cost of some of their fans.\r\nBesides creativity and originality does not defer to fan bases and back\r\nup, neither to marketing strategies.
\r\nOverall I’d say that Protected\r\nHell has many good songs according to their personal style and\r\n“league”. All the basic elements of their sound are once again there\r\nand the fans will be well pleased to listen to this new full force\r\nattack. So, as long our expectations remain to the level the band has\r\nset itself the result will always remain the same as a protected hell!\r\n
