Divine Element - Divine Element
\r\n
\r\nIt’s been a\r\nlong time since I last reviewed an epic metal album. And what I have here is an\r\nAthenian four-piece with a really cool epic/black/heavy metal debut! Divine\r\nElement are mostly a black metal band. BUT they mix really tightly their black\r\nmetal with some thrashy riffs and an epic touch a-la Bathory and Primordial.\r\nThe production is not bad at all, the guitars are razing and the rhythm section\r\nis like a kick in the stomach. Loud and tough vocals, triggered drums and great\r\nleads all over the album, an overall great work of art dressed up by the\r\nartwork of ADMCO7 Graphics (whom I have come across in the past through some\r\ngreat posters!). Tracks like “Dawn Of Battle” and “Crossing The Rubicon” (great\r\nriffs in there!) became my personal favorites (and instant classics for me).\r\nThat fact that this release is totally DIY gets an extra credit by me.\r\nSomething else to be mentioned is that the band recorded the whole album by\r\nthemselves. Their debut also includes a cool cover of Necromantia’s “Ancient Pride”. It is limited\r\nto 500 sweet digipacks so hurry. You can also download it here : http://www.myspace.com/divineelement\r\n
