Dream Theater - Live at Tokyo Sun Plaza

Dream Theater - Live at Tokyo Sun Plaza

\r\nThis is a 2009 release, containing the band’s live show which took place on 1995  in Tokyo. It was released via Woodstock Tape & video corp., fourteen years after that gig, and it is actually the TV broadcasted footage.
\r\nDream Theater that night were in great shape, with incredible energy and “nerve” on stage, except for James Labrie, whose performance was far from their cds’ level. This era was probably one of the most successful in the band’s career; however this show is not the best choice for a dvd release. It’s not only Labrie’s bad performance- who by the way didn’t do only one, two or three mistakes, on the contrary he is screaming instead of singing during all of the show- but also the fact that, despite the whole effort to upgrade the video quality, it’s like you are watching a bootleg which is very  nice directed. Nothing more.
\r\nI would recommend it only for sentimental and collective reasons, plus it’s a good chance for someone to get an idea of what technical perfection means in action from Petrucci, Myung, Portnoy and the exceptional Derek Sherinian of course. \r\n
