Elitist - Fear in a Handful of Dust

Elitist - Fear in a Handful of Dust

Here we have Elitist. An American band I wasn’t aware of until this disc fell into my hands
\r\nfor me to review. Their music varies from sludge to doom paths, it is aggressive and
\r\nsounds complete in the first place.
\r\nListening to the album, there was something that just didn’t do it for me so I decided to
\r\ngive it a few shots before concluding anything. The tracks are heavy. They are chaotic
\r\nand the diversity is a little too much with so many music kinds which aren’t distinct,
\r\nbeyond the classic idioms that I already mentioned and that are the base of the album’s
\r\n"mentality".You will hear songs that reach the speed of thought of a dead man, songs which drag you out of limbo in 3 seconds. Songs that, some would say, belong in a different album. The music is accompanied by a general sense of imbalancing which leaves the listener confused in a way, since the melodies are well played and as a whole there’s nothing incorrect concerning technicality and playing, (which is a dirty as it should be as well as aggressive and passionate). Or at least that’s what it sounds like.

\r\n"Fear in a Handful of Dust" is the title of the album that troubled me in terms of reviewing and grading. Sludge fans should invest in this one anyhow. The rest, enjoy your adventure.
