The Equinox Ov The Gods - Fragments Of Lust And Decay
The Equinox Ov The Gods - Fragments Of Lust And Decay
I first met the music of The Equinox Ov The Gods back in 1996 when they released their first CD/LP (Images Of The Forgotten Memories) through the Greek label, Unisound.
\r\nEleven years since then, the Swedish have returned with their 4th release but this time for a different Greek Label, Burning Star Records. The Title of the album “Fragments of Lust And Decay” and this effort shows a band that has left behind the most of their Gothic / Darkwave influences, and found their own individual music style and identity. The Compositions are well prepared with many and very good indeed, atmospheric parts. The Vocals made once again by Wallin sounds as treading as never before. Many female, ethereal vocals and also many keybords, but very well placed during the whole album, so the result sounds excellent.
\r\nAs you might have noticed I tried not to put a label on their music, and I won’t do this. Equinox Ov The Gods’ music is a blend of Goth, Doom, Classical music even black / death metal parts included and of course the Saxophone!
\r\nThe Composition “Necropolis” is a Re recording of the sametitled song, originally appeared on the Band’s first, and yet perfect CD/LP “Images Of The Forgotten Memories” back in 1996. The Song “Stigmata MMVII” is a re recording of the track “Stigmata” first time appeared in their second and yet suberb album, “Fruits And Flowers Of The Spectral Garden”. So all of you friends of Dark music that you care for the music and not the “music labeling” this CD will be your companion for many many months!
\r\n
\r\nPS. The only reason I don’t rate this one with 100/100 is, that I cannot rate none of the Equinox Ov the gods albums higher than their First one! (Sentimetal Reasons)
