GOLTHOTH - Ruins Of The Damned

\r\nGolthoth is a black metal band from Treviso (north-east Italy), born in 2007 from the ashes of Vediom (formerly know as Veediom). After the separation with their previous drummer Rise they decided to change their moniker and Golthoth was risen up with a new direction and a self-produced four –track demo, titled Ruins Of The Damned. Their sound features aggressive black metal with some death-metal elements, raw and grim with the guitarlines defined by an engraved melodic shade. The vocals are harsh and engaging whether their singer is howling with evilness or whether his voice is changed into a throaty, venomous growl. The guitars from the other hand although they maintain some pretty good ideas, they seem to acquire some further elaboration that could fill the songs with a better coherence and a more convincing function. Of course this a demo release and the fact that it is self produced totally justifies the flaws of the effort. The basic thing is that the compositions are interesting, nothing prototype though but brutal-inspired and with a potential for the future.
