HERMAN FRANK - LOYAL TO NONE

HERMAN FRANK - LOYAL TO NONE

\r\nWhen I was given this album for a review, I was stunt. The well known from his participation in Victory and Accept, Herman Frank, decided to team up with 3 more well known and talented musicians and create this masterpiece. Let me start with a brief introduction of the makers of the album: the guitarist, Herman Frank, played for Accept from the release of “Restless and Wild” until the release of “Balls to the Wall”, and then passed on to Victory, where he remains until now. In vocals, we have our very own Jiotis Parcharidis, (which is also the lead singer of Victory and ex member of Human Fortress), in bass we have Peter Pichl (ex – Running Wild) and in drums Stefan Schwarzmann (ex – Running Wild, Accept, Krokus, Helloween, U.D.O.). As you understand, we have an alliance of Titans of heavy metal, from which only something incredibly good can come as a result.

\r\nThe album is pure and unspoiled heavy metal, with shocking riffs (which is Frank’s strong characteristic), exquisite performances in vocals and a really good production (since Frank was a producer for bands like Saxon, Accept, Victory and Rose Tattoo over the years of his career). The first 4 songs are up tempo and put the listener straight in the atmosphere of the album, and then give their place to the next songs, some of which are a bit down tempo (comparing to the first) and some that relate more to power metal, but overall, all of them amazing and with very few (if any at all) flaws. Unfortunately, I could not pick out any songs, since all of them are really well performed, carefully planned and technically flawless, from the first to the last. I believe this is how the ideal heavy metal albums should be, so the young musicians out there should learn from the elders by checking out this album and paying it the attention it demands, since it is one of the very few diamonds that we have around at this time. If you are a Running Wild or Accept fan or generally fans of this type of German heavy metal, you will love this album, just like I did.\r\n
