IC Rex - Valonkantajan Alkemia

IC Rex came from Finland and with their second full length release, "Valonkantajan Alkemia”, they provide us with a very good Symphonic Black Metal release.
\r\nThe Influences cant be others than Emperor’s “Nightside Eclipse” and Limbonic Art but without the extensive symphonic parts of them. Many melodic passages and freezing atmosphere is the content of  “Valonkantajan Alkemia” that in comparison with the bands first full length sounds better. The reason is that the only member of the band, Cinatas, decided to have a real drummer on this album and not a drum machine, as he did on the “Sielun Kadotuksen Sinfonia” album.
\r\nThe most positive element of the band is that despite the fact that they play Symphonic Black Metal the sound of the band sounds more “raw” and this is a big difference in comparison with the newer Symphonic Black Metal scene. Guitars are in a higher volume than the keyboards and the vocals remind me of Varg Vikernes ones.
