ICON IN ME - Human Museum

ICON IN ME - Human Museum

\r\nThis is the first attempt of this Russian-Swedish project, that began\r\nas an idea of the guitarist D.Frans to launch a longed for\r\ninternational project. Along with him came the ex-MAN, Mnemic,\r\nTransport League vocalist Tony JJ, and Morten on drums (The Arcane\r\nOrder, Submission , Soilwork, and others). Through many postponements\r\nand many studios around Europe that the recordings have roamed the\r\nproject has not thrived until now. Behind the console sits the\r\nwell-known for his collaborations with Destruction and Mercenary, Jacob\r\nHansen, and also there are many guest musicians invited such as Steve\r\nSmyth (Nevermore, Testament), Flemming C. Lund (The Arcane Order,\r\nInvocator) and Andy Solvestrom (Within Y, Evildoer, Cipher System).
\r\n
\r\nAll\r\nthe groups I’ve mentioned so far should have given you a good idea of\r\nwhat the project sounds like. Their company describes their music as\r\nmodern thrash metal, a term that -if it actually exists- seems quite\r\nrepresentative but not fully exact. You can easily track down many\r\ninfluenes that begin from the latest releases of Kreator but they also\r\nexpand to many other mostly core acts like Unearth, As I Lay Dying and\r\nMesshuggah, bands that rule the metal world at the moment with their\r\nproverbial freshness and honest playing. It seems to me that ICM know\r\nthat and try to make a European equivalent to this raging American\r\nmovement. And quite successfully as well. I was really impressed by\r\ntheir aggressive sound which combines melodies with ultra heavy\r\ndistortion riffs. The vocals have the required attitude and rowdiness,\r\nbut the group knows how to enrich those with the use of clear vocals\r\nmostly on the refrains which makes them even more interesting.\r\nGenerally, the songs have the classic hardcore structure with the\r\ndouble kick drum riffs alternating between groovy rhythms and hellish\r\nblastbeats!
\r\n
\r\nOverall I’d say that Human Museum is an album with\r\nrepresentative modern metal music (whether you call it thrash,\r\nmetalcore, screamo, or whatever..) that has its roots in the American\r\nprototype but hopefully in the future will embody and mark the elements\r\nof the European perspective. Icon In Me can and should be among the\r\nleaders of this movement!\r\n
