Igneous Human - Pyroclastic Storms

The Swedish “Igneous Human” are just another band which reproduces that well known Scandinavian Death metal sound. With their debut “Pyroclastic Storms” the band tries to win some of the followers of that specific genre, whether they succeed in this, well I have serious doubts.
\r\nMusically they offer nothing new, their compositions simply reproduce the same old melodic Swedish death metal sound, something that tends to be a trend I must say, though the sound on the guitars and the whole feeling they give out has something more “American” as if they are trying to be Swedish Slipknot or something, at least the complicated and well performed compositions as well as the distinctive growling vocals point to that way. The intense use of bass (sometimes is used as a basic instrument) as well as the addition of keyboards in some of the songs (mostly intros) in order to create the appropriate atmosphere are an interesting touch but that doesn’t seem to make any difference. When they have to compete against bands like Soilwork or Dark Tranquility things are getting pretty tough.
\r\nGenerally “Pyroclastic Storms” is not the album that will turn your world around in any case, anyway the fans of that genre may want to check it out, though I don’t think that this would change anything.
