Iron Fire - To the Grave

Oh my dear Lord…Well here we deal with a band which many of you must be familiar with. The Danish based outfit, Iron Fire releasing their new album, that despite the fact that their label tries to persuades us that this is power metal, I get the impression that something goes wrong with my ears. I found this one like a hammerfall-ish way of power metal mixed with some AOR – ish choruses.
\r\nWell there must be two reasons for this…or I am getting older either the power metal scene has changed dramatically. For Instance, when you hear tracks like “March To Be Immortals” on which chorus reminds something of White Lion, or the track “Battlefield” that reminds me something like Skid Row, due too the vocals they are giving me no chance. And songtitles like “Die For Metal” does not convince me… by the way there are some parts that these guys use something like Nu Metal breaks and some kind of “brutal” growls that doesn’t fit at all. Well, Iron Fire for me are just a step away from entering the “Children Of Bodom” category of my heart.
\r\nWell In general the album is easy listening especially if you use this while you are doing something else…
