Joe Lynn Turner - Live In Germany
Joe Lynn Turner - Live In Germany
This September seems like is the month of the veterans. After Bob Catley’s brand new release, another legend strikes back, with a live album this time. Joe Lynn Turner’s great carreer, includes some cooperations with huge bands such as "Rainbow" realising : Difficult to Cure (1981), Jealous Lover EP (1981), Straight Between the Eyes (1982) and Bent Out of Shape (1983) and "Deep Purple" (Slaves & Masters (1990)). He has also recorded two HTP albums (Hughes - Turner - Project) with the legend, Glenn Hughes, Yngwie J. Malmsteen’s Odyssey (1988) and 9 studio solo albums, without mentioning the guest and other appearances (over 50 album credits), in his 30 years carreer. Some of his trademark songs "I Surrender", "Can’t Happen Here", "Jealous Lover", "Stone Cold", "Street of Dreams" and "Can’t Let You Go" have helped to define the melodic rock genre. "Live in Germany" was recorded during his tour for “Second Hand Life” at UNITED FORCES of ROCK Festival in Ludwigsburg, Germany on October 1st 2007, where he appeared as the headliner. This cd,mostly focuses on some of the classic Rainbow and Deep Purple hits and some songs taken from his solo carreer. The performance of the songs is at high standards, the sound is very good for a live one, while all the instruments and backing vocals are clearly listened. I especially enjoyed the two tracks taken from “Second Hand Life” ("Your Love is Life" and "Blood Red Sky") because I was already familiar with the other ones (Rainbow - Purple eras). Notwithstanding my previous comment, all the album is at high standards and it could be pleasantly listened beggining to end. Another beloved and old one alive and kickin’, another smile to all the romantic hard rockers.
