Kings of Modesty - Hell or Highwater

\r\n“Hell or Highwater” is a 2009 release, but on the 4th of May it’ s going to be released in the US too, as the band recently signed with WORLDSOUND.
\r\nThe story goes back many years ago for KINGS OF MODESTY. On 1994 their guitarist Samuel Hjelt, and their drummer Raino Simoinen, joined forces and a bit later the line-up was completed by Henrik Tuura on the bass and Mikael on keys. However it took almost 11 years to begin working on their first EP on 2005, after Jason Flink (Brother Firetribe) joined them on vocals.
\r\nMelodic Metal meets Hard Rock; there are lots of melodies, keyboards and expressive vocals, without being something special and a really great work on the guitars, both on the rhythm and the lead parts. Some spots (on the guitars and the keys) reminded me of KAMELOT AND QUEENSRYCHE, actually, however don’t let this confuse you because KINGS OF MODESTY have their personal music style.
\r\nJust for the record, this album gave them the chance to tour with Tarja Turunen all over Europe a few months ago.
