Kiuas - The New Dark Age

\r\nThe New Dark Age is the name of the new album from Kiuas from Finland, which I admit that they confused me a little, because I found tracks that I really liked, but also found others that tired me. The music that the band plays is interesting, but there are some points where they exaggerate. What we hear is extreme Power Metal and with the term extreme, I mean something as what we have previously known through Dragonforce some years ago. The compositions are fast and many times they become epic, thing that appears mainly in certain refrains (for example in the refrain of The Decaying Doctrine). From now and then, what exists to a great extent in the album are the solos, that I admit sometimes they exaggerate and end up very tediously, while melodic and very appreciable vocals, are what gives colour in the compositions. For the completion of the whole result, there is an addition of some keyboards, which simply accompany and nothing more. Strong characteristic of the band is the amazing sound which keeps our interest from the very beginning, while it also fits with the composition of difficult, technical and fast songs. There are many melodies, some of which remain in our mind with only a listening. With their basic influence being Dragonforce, Kiuas created an album that on one hand can be heard pleasantly from the fans of the genre, but on the other hand, it can’t be loved.
