Kreator - Hordes Of Chaos (a necrologue for the elite)

\r\nThe last few days during the so called “riot acts” in Athens and other cities of Greece as well, I was constantly listening on the news people wondering “Where all this violence comes from? All this hate and urge for destruction” If these people have heard of Kreator, they wouldn’t be wondering. They would know the answer. Rage is not an unknown feeling, is inside of us all, like a savage beast feeding from our daily fears, anxieties and disappointment for our broken dreams. Most of the times many of us would not look it in the eye, we fear it because it will not obey to any rule or politically correct behavior. So we’re trying to keep the beast down in any way we can, either being indifferent or turning a blind eye. But it will always be there, waiting to take control, waiting for the right time and that time comes sooner or later, when pain and despair turn into blind rage. Kreator are disillusioned. They have always been. They were never afraid to wake their own beast, on the contrary, they looked it straight in the eyes and embraced it making it a faithful companion to escort them on their music journey.
\r\n Some said that “hordes of Chaos” could easily be the soundtrack of nowadays. I say that Our daily routine reflects Kreator’s music. Take as an example an ordinary news broadcast (if you mute the sound) could easily be the ultimate Kreator video. Kreator will not rest. Mille screams for the ordinary man who watches his dreams twisting into grotesque visions, his expectations for a better tomorrow crushed and his last hope, long dead and gone. He’s getting furious realizing that he lives in a world where lies, betrayal, fear and hypocrisy rule. He screams his guts out like never before trying to awake every last one of us.
\r\nAs for the music, this one is much the same as “Enemy of god” and “Violent revolution”. Nothing less, nothing more. All the distinctive Kreator elements are here as well. Riffs that wake up primal instincts, obscure melodies, insane solos and all these under a thundering rhythm section.
\r\nThe only thing that this album lacks in is the production in which the guitar sound is a bit pitched and “dry” losing all the massive tone that was there on their previews releases. The man responsible for this is their new producer Moses Schneider who replaced Andy Sneap. But the compositions themselves are great and that’s all that matters. I bet the new songs will kick ass when they’re played live. After all we’re talking about Kreator, a word synonym to Thrash metal.
