LIPSTICK MAGAZINE - Skin Deep

LIPSTICK MAGAZINE - Skin Deep

Seems that there’s something strange with the area of New Jersey. Either there won’t be any serious movement in the local music scene or there will be the greatest band ever! Let’s not forget that some of the greatest bands in Hard Rock like Bon Jovi or The Boss are coming from there. Lipstick Magazine are a N.J. band that will definitely rock your brains. It’s all about a female fronted band (don’t think of anything gothic related….i repeat: They rock!) and “Skin Deep” is their first effort, an album that I can’t think of something it lacks compared with some masterpieces of the genre. In my opinion this band holds two aces that will make them win the game.
\r\n1.The charismatic lead singer Toni Loyas whose warm and passionate voice, sometimes powerful and other times a bit more emotional, gives to every track its own unique character, and 2. The entirely inspired compositions themselves.
\r\nIn “Skin Deep” we listen to high class melodic Hard Rock. The compositions are truly amazing, not only the rock dynamites but the heartbreaking ballads as well. The production is really powerful while some credits should be given to the no less than awesome guitar parts in which the dual force of Damon Marks and Nat Gardiner simply blows your brains out (especially when soloing)!
\r\nResult. A perfectly balanced album of melodic Hard Rock created just to make all those Hard Rockers out there jump off their seats! Besides, how many bands out there can grab your attention from the very first try? There must be something in the water of New Jersey..
