Mike Dimareli Artical - Horizon
Mike Dimareli Artical - Horizon
The Greek virtuoso guitar player Mike Dimareli, returns with the second release of his band, Mike Dimareli Article, and this time with an All – star line up, Bob Katsionis (Firewind and many more) on the Keys and Bill Aksiotis (Phantom Lord) on Vocals. The Line up filling up Thomas Tserkezo on the Bass guitar and Tuomo Dimareli on the Drums
\r\nAlthough the first release of Mike Dimareli, “Fantasy” (2004) was a neo classical instrumental album, “Horizon” from the first impression, seems to be closer to the Stratovarius (of the 90’s) music forms. And if something sounds close to Stratovarius is of course inspired by the Ultimate guitarist Yngwie Johan Malmsteen and the man who started all, Ritchie Blackmore.
\r\nThe First good impression given to me was the very nice production. Other very good points are the very good guitar work that made from Mike, with melodic and technical solos. The keybords olayed by Bob gave an over the top quality to this CD. At last but not least, the high-pitched vocals by Bill, not only fit perfect with the whole concept of the album but also gives you the impression that bill surely can beat many of the vocalists of these genre.
\r\nIn conclusion, this cd is a recommendation for all the disappointed fans of Y.J. Masmsteen, as well as the friends that do not like the crescendo of virtuosity by guitarists like Yngwie, there is a perfect balance between the guitar solos the key solos and the vocals on this album. We are looking forward the nest release by Mike, that despite his perfect ability of guitar plying, this album shows that he is a low profile musician in comparison with the other Virtuoso guitarist players, Greeks and not.
