Mnemonic - Pandora
Mnemonic - Pandora
\r\nHow would it be if we had the tinge of the voice of Tool, basic vocal lines by Korn (check “Quicksand” for example), the guitars of Staind and we covered all these with an atmospheric veil? Well, pretty close to Mnemonic for sure! From the first time I listened to Pandora I realized that the production was in top level, I wasn’t surprised when later on I read somewhere that responsible for this was Sylvia Massy-Shivy, known for working with Tool, Johnny Cash and many others. Pandora is a good release, undeniably! Clean takes, excellent sound, stuck-in-mind song-writing and even if at first I gave them characteristics of other bands, Mnemonic have managed if not to create a unique sound, a new genre (how possible is something like that anyway?) certainly to add a worth-listening CD to the scene. . 10 songs, in their great majority well written, able to find their place from playlists of people keep looking for new bands, to rock clubs, making the crowd wonder who the hell these guys are! \r\n

\r\nI kept thinking that if Pandora had been created 10 years ago, it would have had a very serious part in how the scene would have been formed, nowadays it can’t be mentioned as a pioneer , still though Mnemonic’s addition to the genre shouldn’t go unnoticed! There are parts that have been arranged extremely well, giving this way great substance even to simple forms.. I realize I have spoken about bands that Mnemonic’s sound gets close, and I keep on finding elements that remind me of others, somehow though, they have managed to make Pandora stand on its own, without have me bothered
\r\nabout this kind of similarities. Before this review comes to its end, I should also mention the well-executed effort of artwork design, even if I only own the promo, I can tell that they are interested for the artistic part of their release too! Check their under construction site, slowly growing, and the about-Pandora site, anyone could tell that they are willing to work hard for their music been promoted.. And since this music, since their musical obligations let’s say, are covered in such a beautiful way, I can do nothing but congratulate them! \r\n
