Naer Mataron - Praetorians

\r\nYES, the best Greek black metal band Naer Mataron has finally returned with a fucking killer new album, entitled "Praetorians". Trying to gather my scattered all over the place brains in order to be able to write this review let’s start by saying, well, ladies and gentlemen "Praetorians" kicks some major fucking asses!!!!WOW, am I being totally subjective here because I so fucking love this band? DON’T THINK SO!!They are simply grandiose, huge, immense, enormous!!! Being released on May 19 by Season of Mist’s brand new Underground Activists division the album features also a new singer in the band, Vicotnik, of Dodheimsgard/DHG, who also handled the production of the album.
\r\nI know some of you may object because their sound has become more Norwegian and this effort is no exception but who cares! There is simply no fucking weak moment in this tremendous album. With a sound mixing Dissection’s melodic guitar lines, Immortal’s grimness and Darkthrone’s rawer edge but with some minimal keyboard use, they deliver pure and raw black metal and unlike other bands Naer Mataron do not intend to soften their sound at all!!! 11 tracks filled to the core with an overwhelming atmosphere, magnetizing riffs and beautiful and filthy guitars, outstanding drums with some intensely fast sections and fantastic fills, vile tempos, many rhythm changes, grim brutality and devastating black metal vocals. There are also some slow parts but the most of the music here is a violent and sturdy number of long and fast black metal tracks. Keyboards from the other hand don’t really have a great role in this album since the presence of Nordvargr’s electronic touches is being quite restricted to the less possible degree with some low ambient effects. Finally, Vicotnik’s production is great, stiff but with a satisfying effort to the creation of a harmonious equilibrium between all the instruments. In addition, it is also included a video clip for the song "Incarcerating Gallantry" in the CD edition of the album with the shooting had taken place in the mountain of Penteli in the Daveli’s cave.
\r\nIf I were to choose a favorite track from this album it would be a really hard task to do. I loved them ALL!!!So, give yourselves a favor and get this album at once, it is even more than highly recommended!!\r\n
