OFFICIUM TRISTE - Charcoal Hearts - 15 Years of Hurt

The Ducth outfit Officium Triste is a band that for about the last 15 years moves into the Doom metal sound heavily inspired by the old Anathema and My Dying Bride sounds. Having already four albums through all these years they decided to release a compilation to celebrate their 15 years of existence with their loyal fans and to offer them some surprises.
\r\nSo here we have a brand new track, the first one with the new line up entitled “No Hope”. Also we have the re recorded versions of “Divinity” (originally on Pathway) and the acoustic version of “My Charcoal Heart” (originally on their latest album “Giving Yourself Away”). Moreover there is also a very good cover version to Killing Joke’s “Love Like Blood”.
\r\nOn This compilation there are also the two tracks off the Officium Triste / Cold Mourning split MCD that has been released in 1998, as well as the remastered versions of the whole Mountains of Depressiveness” MCD (Originally Released in 1996)
\r\nPersonally, as a fan of the band I found this compilation very interesting and really satisfied my needs, and I am sure that this CD will satisfy all of the Officium Triste fans. For those that might not know anything about the band, I think is a wiser move to buy “Ne Vivam” album. Of course this compilation stands alone and many fans of the old Anathema, My Dying Bride even Katatonia will find it interesting.
