Panychida - Paganized
Panychida - Paganized
\r\nPanychida is a new band from the Czech Republic and recently they signed a contract with Folter Records from Germany. "Paganized" is the debut album of the band and it is obvious from the title the style of music they are playing.\r\n
\r\n
\r\nThe band presents Melodic / Pagan Black Metal which is based mostly upon mid tempo parts and typical Black outbreaks. It is true that some tracks are really interesting and have something to say but the album also contains tracks which are rather indifferent since the tunes are repeated and sometimes it is like we hear the same riff in a different track. It is very obvious tha the singer would like to resemble to Abbath since he tries to sound like him during the whole album. Partly he achieves his goal but on the other hand it would be better if he had an individual style. What plays important role in the music of Panychida is the combination of Black elements with instruments like flute etc. It is also something that gives a more folk attitude in the result and at the same time it reminds us the pagan character of the album. I confess that in some songs I was attracted by the dark atmosphere but unfortunatelly that doesn’t happen in all duration. The production is good even if sometimes appeared a little flat and with nothing particular to show.\r\n

\r\n"Paganized" as the first work is mediocre and the band appears to have many ideas that however should be worked with more maturity. If this album was to be released from a well known band then the result would have been characterised as bad, but since it was created from a upcoming band then we should show some tolerance. To all those who like this certain genre, it would be nice if they heard the music of Panychida but they should not have great expectations...\r\n
