Paradox - Riot Squad

Paradox - Riot Squad

\r\nOne thing that I like very much about PARADOX is the excellent work on the guitars and the thunderous riffing which plays the most important role in the compositions. I also like the fact that they do have their own style, even though it combines many elements from bands such as Metallica (their first albums), Megadeth and Anthrax. This has to do a lot with the vocals, because they are aggressive and very melodic at the same time. This may seem weird to for those who haven’t listen to PARADOX so far, however it’s a fact and it differentiates them from the usual straight at your face, “trashy” vocals which is common in other Thrash Metal bands. Furthermore, on some spots they approach a Speed Metal style rather than a pure, classical Thrash Metal playing. This is what they always did, this is what they still do.
\r\nTen explosive compositions, with great production and totally insane riffing is what PARADOX gives us with their new album. Ten songs absolutely influenced from the Bay Area Thrash Metal scene, but not old-fashioned at all. On the contrary they are very fresh and modern, which is not the easiest thing in the world after so many years since that music scene was “born”.
\r\n“Hollow Peace” and “Riptide are the songs that I liked the most because of the brilliant work on the guitars and the beautiful choruses as well. “Riot Squad” is a good album and a very good chance for someone to check out the band in case they haven’t yet!
