Randomwalk - Redemption

Randomwalk - Redemption

\r\nMany times ( if not always) when I don’t have a good mood I turn to music. I turn to things I have and still love but also in new projects that would give me shelter and make me feel better even for a little while. These days I admit I don’t have the time of my life. But fortunately I got «our» Randomwalk debut album and they instantly touched my soul. It’s not usual for me to be touched immediately from the first hearing but there are some exceptions. So Randomwalk is one of those exceptions and Redemption is the shelter I was looking for. Initially we must say that the specific record does not sound like a debut album. Everything is absolutely professional, from the production to every single detail in the compositions and that’s something really hopeful as we see that the greek scene is getting improved thanks to efforts like this one. Randomwalk music is multi-dimensional and indicates an open-minded band that has no fear of experimenting and opening up to new stuff. If I had to describe what I listened to in Redemption in a few words, it would be Atmospheric Metal with several Symphonic elements and some gothic parts. From then on, things aren’t that simple as the band has many influences and offers a sound that sometimes might remind of something else. But it has found its identity. In my opinion, there were times that the album reminded of early Sentenced but also Crematory and I really liked that. Compositions are melodic and catchy enough (especially Faces Down), they can capture the listener and take him on a journey to the dark and pleasant world of Randomwalk. The songs are based on rhythm riffs and keyboards, with no exaggerations, are really important too. It’s worth saying that the songs have a theatricality which personally I rarely find in greek bands and that’s another positive thing. Finally, I’d like to comment on Jean Baptiste vocals as they are pretty much responsible for the whole atmosphere and theatricality the songs have and his voice gives the impression that the band has more than one singer.  For me, it’s very important the vocals to be perfectly adjusted to the needs of a song and Jean does a great work on it! Either it’s brutal or clean vocals the result is amazing and I would like to personally congratulate him for that. I don’t have anything else to say. The fact that Redemption made me feel better and caught my attention says a lot for me. It would be nice for you to listen to the album and make your own conclusions. For the time being, check out Faces Down video to get a first idea… Wishing all the best to the band! \r\n
