Sacred Rite - Resurrection

Sacred Rite - Resurrection

\r\nEnough people probably, have no idea of the this band. However, it is sure that a lot of people had loved Sacred Rite an older legendary band, from… Honolulu of Hawaii! Sacred Rite therefore were created in 1981 and all called them (and still does) Hawaiian Heavy Metal Icons. The band had a long time to give signs of existence if we take into account that it had spit-up.
\r\nIn 2002, the company Sentinel Steel released 3 classic albums of the band in a collection, which was named Sacred Rite: Rites Of Passage Volume 1 and 2, and this bring again the band in the limelight and the success that get this compilation, put thoughts in the group for a future reunion. The result therefore, was that in September 2007, Sacred Rite released their new studio album which is called Resurrection and the title is enough realistic for two reasons. Firstly because the band came back again and second because they want to keep alive the memory of their drummer, Kevin Lum, who lost the battle with the diabetes in November 2002. The album therefore is dedicated exclusively in him. It deserves to report the text that accompanies the photograph of Kevin in the disc, that concerns also the music in album: “All of the drum and percussion sounds that you hear on this album were created from samples taken from the original Sacred Rite recordings done between 1983 and 1986. Modern technology helped us arrange the sounds that Kevin made into the drum parts for these new songs. In a way, it’s as if he s been resurrected ".
\r\nFor the music that we hear here, there is no reason for reporting more and become tedious. The band for one more time generously offers us well played Heavy Metal with many Progressive elements, which is what they offered us through the years. The difference now is that the sound and in general the production is in higher level, while there are also enough melodic points which help the listener remember the band’s music easily and without a lot of listening. The compositions are technical but no complicated, something that makes the all result interesting and is offered for long time of pleasant listening. The solos give and they take, while the rhythm  riffs simply accompany discreetly. The beautiful melodies were always the strong characteristic of Sacred Rite and of course they could not be absent from this release. The heroes of Hawaii returned with an album that is not supposed to be absent from any fan of the band. The reason for writing this review is more in order to make a summary of the band and not to “judge” the music. However, who can judge a band like this…? Hurry up!\r\n
