Saxon - Gods of war

Saxon - Gods of war

When referring to Saxon, there is certainly no need to use lengthy introductions, nor to mention their past achievements by saying who they are and what they have accomplished and offered. We’re talking about Saxon, right? One of the greatest bands of the past, the present and the future. I’ve never met anyone in my entire life that has been even once disappointed by any of their releases, even more by their live performances. To make a long sentence short, Saxon kick some serious ass!
\r\n“Call to arms” is what it is supposed to be. It grabs your neck from the beginning to its very end and it doesn’t let you loose no matter what. An onslaught of pure heavy metal riffing, while wondering how the “mighty” Biff could still be sounding so ecstatic. Their slower and more melodic parts are enchanting and the keyboards, played by Don Airey, create the perfect background atmosphere. The figure on the cover pointing at you is clear: “Saxon want you”!
\r\nThe truth is that we don’t need to say too much about “Call to arms”, likewise any other Saxon material. They’ve been out there for nearly 45 years and they’ve proven, over and over, that they are restless spirits who don’t live for the glory of the days past (like other former “legends”) and that they don’t intend to slow down. Until their next album release or live performance somewhere nearby, “Call to arms” will be our companion. No matter what our preferences are, no matter which our favourite band is, it is our duty to listen to Saxon as well!!!
