Scourger - Dark Invitation To Armageddon

\r\nScourger is from Finland and despite the fact that they have their second release out they also have some nerve. I ve been looking at the promo sheet that was included in the promo cd, and I found the review of a great Finnish rock star and keyboard player that plays poser/death/metal. He is Mr. Jane Warreman of Children OF Bodom that considers this release the second best thrash metal release after slayer’s “Reign In Blood”. After this quote from the man who changed the whole metal scene by playing Poser Death Metal, I feel so unworthy to review this album, but I ll do it even if I am about to be called “Blasphemer”
\r\nSo, “The Dark Invitation To Armageddon” album is a neo thrash metal album, exactly similar to bands like The Haunted, a thrash metal album with At The Gates riffing .The funny thing is that Scourger doesn’t have the “guts” and “agreesion” of The Haunted so the album is plain and in specific parts sooo boring. Adding the fact that the band has some keys in it that make the album softer so we come to the conclusion that this is another Finnish thrash metal wannabe band.
\r\nFor those that are fed up with “straight” and in “your face” thrash metal and bands like Testament, Slayer or even newer “Old Fashion” thrash metal bands, this is your release. As for the people that are not into the music of Scourger, better save your money and buy something to eat.
\r\nTo be honest the worst thing for Scourger is that there is not a front man like Alexi Laiho to magnetize the little girls…
