Seance - Awakening Of The Gods

\r\nThe Séance word reminds me of American teenagers movies in the’80s, who\r\nwere trying to call spirits in a basement surrounded by candles or\r\nwatching King Diamond video. Also, the word is the name of the Swedish\r\ndeath metal band that we are dealing write now. The band’s last\r\nrecording was in 1993. Since there is already a mini revival of\r\ntheSwedish death scene lately, the band decided to rejoin and record\r\nthe "Awakening Of The Gods".

\r\n The result is a fast paced\r\nalbum varied sounded and with many changes in their tunes and to the\r\noverall songs’ structure. In your face thrash riffs combined with\r\ntechnical virtouzika parts, and involves complex soles. Finally,\r\nLarsson vocals are angry, primitive, aggresive and cruel. I believe\r\nthat, that kind of vocals are really satisfing and fully conforms to\r\nthe album’s spirit. However, no matter how hard the effort was, we are\r\nnot listening to something new and different. The album is a Swedish\r\ndeath metal stereotype unfortunately. In my mind I am thinking bands\r\nlike Arsis or Faceless, which are more technical, Unleashed and\r\nEntombed Of Hearse. What they did was to import and combine music\r\npatterns from other bands adjusted to to their own style.

\r\n In\r\nconclusion, although there is plenty of talent in the band, the songs\r\nare not beyond the limits of classic Swedish death, and the result,\r\nalthough highly offensive, not something new. Drive like "Fornever Laid\r\nTo Rest" will xanavgei and "Awakening Of The Gods" ends up is still a\r\ndeath metal album. What future for the reserve the only band that\r\nknows. I imagine that if sales go well and closed some concerts will\r\ncontinue, otherwise there may again be brought to Hibernation.\r\n
