SHAMAN - Immortal

SHAMAN - Immortal

I have to admit that since I heard the first notes from this CD, it really took me by surprise. To be honest, I like it more that the previous stuff from this band. Shaman, who comes from Brazil, is back with Thiago Bianchi replacing Andre Matos on vocals, and he does it successfully. “Immortal” is a heavy album, with aggressive, hard riffs on guitars and very rough parts on drums and the rhythm section in general. Thiago is incredible, and there are some really intense moments in his performance. It can be easily compared to stuff from Helloween, Vision Divine, and of course Angra, or even Symphony X, something which doesn’t imply that this band doesn’t have its own “identity” or personality.

\r\nThe tracks that I liked the most are, “On life”, ”Inside Chains”, “Tribal” and the title-track, which I consider as the best moment in this album. The production is good, but I think it could have been better. One thing is for sure, the band is moving a step forward with this album, and their job is very promising for the near future.
