Shever - Ocean Of Illusion
Four young witches gathered in the Mighty Helvetia (Switzerland) under the moonlight and decided to form the doom / death band, ShEver. In 2004 they released their first demo called “The Mirror” with three tracks in it, and during the present year (November) they released their first full-length album entitled “Ocean Of Illusion”. The Album is a mixture of slow tempo (almost rotten) doom metal with brutal and clean vocals and low tuned instruments. There are six well-prepared compositions, with long running time, hence the long running time does not make the listener to feel bored. In this CD there is also the presence of the Violin, played by Nadine, but only in few parts, so this doesn’t make the music “pop”. Also a worth to mention point is that during the tracks and while the brutal vocals are in the front, in the background the melodies of the clean vocals reminds me of some chilling Witches chant. ShEver through this 4 years of their existence achieved many things such as supporting great bands like Esoteric and Place Of Skulls, also the popular band Ahab. Once again the tradition that wants the Swiss bands to have unique style of music came true. The Country that owns gigantic bands like Messiah, Samael and Celtic Frost did not disappoint us. If you are a fan of the good “Dark Sound” just communicate with ShEver and order this CD.
