Sideblast - Flight Of A Moth
Sideblast - Flight Of A Moth
The case of Sideblast could be the example of when a band has potential there aren’t any excuses like "ok, it’s their first album so don’t expect much". The French managed to create an amazing debut album which gives you the impression it has been written by a band that has been around the music industry for years and really knows how to compose songs and how to give out energy and rage through their compositions. The music we listen to here is between Death Metal and Grindcore, while the group’s main influences are Strapping Young Lad, Gojira and Behemoth. The one element that is obvious in the outcome isn’t just some influences that co-exist but also many other things. Some of them are for sure many rythm changes, groovy parts here and there, keyboards that fit exactly to the whole outcome and really is one af the few cases where they fit so well to something that extreme, and finally changes in vocals. It should be mentioned that really often we listen to some thrash elements that harmonicly co-exist in the (beautiful) chaos the French create. The production of the album is excellent and has nothing wrong. The only thing I didn’t like is that songs are abit hard to remember but that something you get over quickly. It would be a pity not ot say that tracks are really technical, something that puts the album level of quality higher. In conclusion, here we have an extreme album which is made by a group with talent and will to work hard. If you are into quality Death/Grindcore sound, listen to Flight Of A Moth and you will discover your new favourite band.
