SIRENIA - 13th Floor

Sirenia - 13th Floor

\r\n"After Nine Destinies And A Downfall", Sirenia are back after two years with the \r\n"13th Floor". But with the new album the band brought along new members, the \r\nsinger Pilar "Ailyn" Gimenez Garcia and guitarist Michael S. Krumins. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nThe new album once again is composed by Morten Veland and once again we \r\nlisten to the same influences. For those who do not know the "recipe" of Morten, \r\nthe "ingredients" are the following: gothic metal, dark symphonic metal, power \r\nmetal, extreme metal with brutal vocals. Surely such influences are met into \r\nother bands, and music based on that recipe is not new, but Morten has proved \r\nmany times that he is a good "cook" and his new album proves once again. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nThe melodies are fresh and havier than the previous album, with various \r\nforms that keep the interest of the listener deep. Music balances are well kept, \r\namong the influences, with no exaggeration and use of repetitive melodies and \r\nstyles that would make the albume monotonous and boring. Also, there is very \r\ngood use of keyboards, samples and choirs creating a melancholic atmosphere, \r\ndark and romantic as that. Ailyn’s vocals are very good and match to the songs, \r\nbut they have not impressed.
\r\n
\r\nFinally to say that the production is \r\nexcellent, the sound is pure, crystalline and that the cover art is worthy of \r\nadmiration. It is one of the shutters that pull your attention\r\n
