Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone
Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone
\r\nTo tell the truth I was never into Sslipknot. The whole thing with the uniforms, the masks and the so called “Nu metal” sound was never something I would listen to. I used to see it as a new trick of the music industry based on the extreme look and the extreme sound in order to attract people. To be totally honest when I first listened to IOWA my thoughts were just confirmed. Since then i stopped watching them , until I recently listened to their last album and I was completely amazed! Honestly I never expected such a great album from Slipknot! Sure thing is that many of their fans that were waiting for another noisy and paranoid album will be disappointed. Slipknot were never an “ordinary” band, and if they showed us some signs of what they can achieve on their previews album Vol.3 now we see it clear. Some would say they sold themselves to the music industry or became more popular writing airplay songs and all this, while some others that were never into Slipknot ( myself included ) will start listening to their music. The thing is that this album is one of the most progressive albums I ‘ve ever heard and if you give them a chance surely you won’t be disappointed. 12 songs ( +3 bonus tracks in the limited edition, probably 3 of the best tracks ) are obviously their best compositions so far. All is here: Aggressive riffs ( Gemetria , Sulfer ,Psychosocial ), catchy choruses ( Dead memories ), raging lyrics ( all hope is gone ) and the best track of the album ( and perhaps one of the best tracks ever! ) Snuff. The band is performing great as always .Joey proves one more time his awesome drumming skills , while Corey ( whose melodic parts and choruses are here more obvious than any other time ) is singing his heart out. In conclusion “all hope is gone“ is an excellent album filled with great songs given from Slipknot’s distorted point of view.
