Soilent Green - Inevitable Collapse In The Presence Of Conviction
\r\nMetal Blade is leaving me speechless lately with it’s releases. After the amazing Precambrian by The Ocean, the label’s releases now includes one more magnificent work this time from the US. A release interesting to whoever listens to metal. Soilent Green have a history that goes back two decades. Up till\r\nnow they were signed in Relapse Records. Inevitable Collapse In The Presence Of Conviction is their first release\r\nin Metal Blade and I believe\r\nthat what we listen to is the evolution of \r\nSoilent Green. For those of you who might not be familiar with the sound\r\nof the band – they combine in a unique way Sludge with Death Metal elements and\r\ntheir production is being handled by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal). Personally I\r\nhave rarely heard something similar to this and maybe that’s the reason I\r\nenjoyed this album so much. Soilent Green are extreme and technical and in\r\ntheir death metal parts they are diverse and unique. They can’t fit in the\r\nregular forms and they present something personal within the genre. As for the Sludge parts, they aren’t the key to the sound of the album but they give their own color to the\r\nresult. Their music is also very technical since the structure of the songs is\r\ncomplicated and their playing complex. There are some southern parts every now\r\nand then which enhance the result. Inevitable Collapse... isn’t easy to listen to. However the more times you listen to it, the more you dive into it and the more things you adopt. The strongest point of the band is their amazingly heavy and sharp sound which makes the listen more interesting. I’d like to point out at this point that in some tracks\r\nthe riffs are very complex and so they are not so catchy by the first listen. As\r\nwe listen to the album again, though, the more we grow into them and the 11\r\ntracks become more interesting. Simply amazing! \r\n
