Spitfire - Die fighting

Spitfire - Die fighting

\r\nLet me start with a brief introduction, for those who do not know  our very own Spitfire… They started back in 1986 as a very promising band, named after the famous British fighter plane of the Second World War, and their first release was “First Attack”. They received a lot of good reviews but a series of unfortunate events (like their first singer’s, Dino Costakis, car accident) made them come to a halt, eventually leading to their first comeback in  1990 with an LP titled “100% Live”. That one was under a different name though due to copyright issues (so Spitfire became Speedfire). They kept only one member from their first Line Up (Elias Longinides) and when everyone had given up on them releasing another album, they came back yet again with their latest “Die Fighting”, an album that fulfilled all of the audience’s expectations to the fullest.
\r\n    This album is one of those that give us hope for Greek heavy metal scene. The production is really good, Alex’s voice rises up to the standards of the band he is representing and each song is better than the other, including the last live acoustic medley called “Tears, Whispers, Walk Alone” which was recorded at Gagarin Club in 2006. I tried really hard to pick out a few songs in the album, but I just failed. This release is one of those albums that you just have to load in the CD player and let it play from start to end (and then turn back to track one and do the same over and over again). All the songs have a clean and powerful sound, really good rhythm, melodic full riffs and vocals with power and character which fully suit the strong sound coming from the bass and electric guitars. To sum up, all the fans of the clean heavy metal sound should check out “Die Fighting” and in my opinion, it won’t let you down.
