Threat Signal - Threat Signal
Threat Signal - Threat Signal

\r\n I’ve been following Threat Signal since their very debut that came out 5 years ago. It was a strong release bearing incredible vocals and melodic yet razor sharp guitars a la Fear Factory. Modern metal but without the failing repeatitive outcome of other modern acts. These guys had songs that stood out of the crowd. But from then on TS managed to fall some levels with their second release, though they did earn a respectable ammount of new fans. You see acts like Soilwork, Mnemic and others got well established in the minds of younger metalheads and the train took Signal along. But appart from 2 great songs Vigilance didn not do so well in my mind.

\r\n Their third creation sees the band trying a bit harder...harder? Yes, and I ask you: why the blastbeats? How come some bands only started using blastbeats after some more brutal acts emerged? Anyway, I will not bitch about that. It’s just that the new album did what the last did. Nothing. The only thing I found evolved was the partially faster tempos at some songs. Hard screams, followed by melodic choruses and so on...the result couldn’t keep my attention attached. After many listening sessions I think "Threat Signal" will meet the dumpster. Yes, ok, perfect sound, tight playng, you know how it goes. I was expecting something stronger I have to admit. Perhaps something more mature..

\r\n The die hard fans of the band should not pay attention to this text. It is true I was expecting them to overcome themselves but this does not mean the album is bad. But it sounds like a teen album to my poor ears and in my opinion their next effort had better exceed the level of the self titled cd. These are truy hard times for mediocre moves.
