Turbulence - Cryonics
Turbulence - Cryonics
\r\nI was introduced to the band via myspace just a few time ago and I have to admit that what I heard impressed me from the first moment that I checked their webpage to listen to their songs. According to the info on their page, the band was formed in 2005 as VIOLATOR and one year later they recorded the demo “Collapsed Mind” which was clearly referring to the Bay Thrash scene of the 80s. However, the band evolves its style, and under the name TURBULENCE,after spending a year for recordings, they release the EP “Cryonics”.
\r\nLet’s go to the main subject now. The fact that currently there’s a high level regarding our favorite music is really pleasant and I enjoy very much listening to such good stuff. TURBULENCE combines something from their old self and their 80’s Thrash influences with elements from the modern metal scene in a masterly way. While on one hand they begin with an atmospherical track where you only hear the sound of violin, lightings and rain, all in a “peaceful” mood, on the other hand they start speeding in an absolutely “Thrash ’em all” style, which has nothing to do with the above mood, on the contrary while listening to it, you will start headbanging before realizing it, then they change again to more “light” tones and straight metal forms, until bursting again into Thrash explosions. Heavy, thunderous riffs, intense, powerful rhythm section and amazing vocals. The most important part? These guys have incredible amounts of energy and if there’s something that I’d really love to see is a live show of theirs and all these elements on stage. The song that I like the most is “The Weakest Link”. You can watch the video on the bottom of this page. The band is currently recording for an upcoming full-length album, which, as they state on their page, will be different from what we have heard so far. A few days ago they announced that due to professional/musical differences the band parted ways with the frontman and they are looking for a new one. We definitely are looking forward to hear from them. \r\n
