\r\nBy listening to the single “Leatherhead” a month ago, I took a first glance at what this album would sound like. Now that we have the 13th studio release by the former ACCEPT singer mr. Udo Dirkshneider we can have a full and clearer image and grow our own conclusions. “Rev-Raptor” is the album that every fan would expect from the German legend. Pure teutonic Heavy Metal of the first degree! \r\nThe good old successful recipe seems to work here as well, powerful riffing, melodic solos along with some really catchy choruses make this release a “must have” album for all metalheads. Then again is that peculiar synthesized sound on the guitars that, I don’t know but, it just doesn’t feel right. Some of the songs that manage to stand out are, among others, the melodic ballad “I Give As Good As I Get” as well as the thunderous “Renegade” with UDO performing greatly once more. \r\nAs a total, I can’t say that “Rev-Raptor” changed my life. It might be melodic and powerful but on the other hand the songs themselves don’t seem to even get close to the compositions of the glorious past (and I am not referring to ACCEPT…). In general I don’t think that this is a disappointing album, it just isn’t the album that would make you shake by excitement like the latest ACCEPT did to me. \r\n \r\nDimitris Karantounias\r\n
