Vendetta - Tyranny Of Minority
\r\nVendetta is an English heavy metal band that operates in the heavy metal route in the good old traditional way. Formed in early 2006 by guitarist/vocalist Edward Box and framed up by guitarist Pete Thompson, Gary Foalle on the bass and Mick Robson completing the line-up by handling the drumkit. "Tyranny Of Minority" features 12 tracks of shredding classical heavy metal that marks the debut release from Vendetta. The album is defined by the twin guitars of Box and Pete Thompson that interchange their solos after a fashion of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. There are also great hooks spread out in the whole album, beautiful harmonies and compressed musical transcriptions suspiring to the compositions with an old-fashioned attitude although the production leans equally to the branch of modern forge as well. The bad thing is that the guitar scales are so up fronted that the rhythm section seems somewhat lost in the background. The drumming sounds weak and reduced to fundamental parts that the compositions lack a major part of their potential dynamics granted only by the accelerated and diverse formulas of the guitar lines. From the other hand Edward Box handles the vocals duties himself and his voice is good but he also lacks the range or the capacity for effective action or supportive power while he gets even boring at times. Overall, ’Tyranny Of Minority’ is a worthy debut that will surely apply to the fans of melodic heavy metal and with a better vocalist they could even accomplish far greater things. \r\n
