The Void - Vision Of The Truth
\r\n The Void’s "Vision Of The Truth" contains nine tracks of dark/gothic metal with also strong references to 80s doom and dark wave scene, inspired by bands like Moonspell, Paradise Lost, Tiamat and Type Or Negative. Existing since 1998, the Italian group calls its music as a mixture between Dark Metal and Gothic Doom. Although it is indeed rich of dark and decadent atmospheres the album gives also some space to more aggressive and metal moments, where the guitar riffs are even pushed towards territories of thrash and black metal in the faster songs while at some points their sound reminds a little bit that of Rammstein mainly when they are using some electronic elements. Their music gets gothic, dramatic, thrashy, melancholic, aggressive, weird, alternating constantly. There are so many changes really between the songs that sometimes it gets really hard to follow them although generally they do it with a very interesting manner. Along with the varied performance of the singer Diego, whose voice sounds almost theatrical one moment but also raw and aggressive another.
\r\n Overall, I found this album very interesting for a gothic metal release for usually such releases make me bored to death but The Void managed to achieve the amazing thing to keep me awake for the most part of the album. I think this is a more than decent piece of work with even some amazing guitar sections and I believe that any fan of dramatic, melancholic music will find this release and this band worth listening to. \r\n
